This is the clip of David Belle doing parkour in the french movie Banlieu 13 (District 13) which also stars cyril raffaelli who was in kiss of the dragon with jet li. David Belle, according to what I've read was one of the founders and earliest practitioners of parkour along with the likes of Sebastien Foucan who is the founder of free running, which is similar to parkour with a slight difference.
Where parkour is simply focused on moving as efficiently as possible from point A to point B with as little tricks and unnecessary movements as possible, free running incorporates the same concepts of useful movement along with inclusion and openess to free expression of the free runners allowing them to perform tricks and aesthetically pleasing moves whilst trying to move quickly between locations

Hey Ian, was wondering if you've already seen Banlieue 13? I mean the entire movie and not just a clip or two? I downloaded it and needed subtitles as it was in French but it was well worth the hassle. Get it and watch it ok?! =P

i watched the movie too. its great to watch the parkour, but for some reason i got the dubbed-to-english version and couldnt concentrate on the movies good points after that. bad dubbing is always hilarious.
Yeah, i think bad dubbing is worse when its done to old chinese movies. The dubbers find the need to emphasize sentences and words the way they feel the chinese people do, so they sound really enthusiastic, hehehe. I hope you watched Casino Royale, cos the free-running at the beginning of the show is the craziest I've seen by far, and the guy running, is The Sebastien Foucan. Crazy stuff =)
